DEFINITION OF ZERO WASTE PRODUCTS

A consumer Zero Waste product is something that is either unpackaged or can be purchased loose, or which has packaging that can be recycled or composted easily through local or domestic facilities.

But we're not daft. We know that some packaging is necessary to minimise food waste, but there are times when less is more.

We also recognise that packaging is just one facet of decision making during the shopping process and that products deemed to have zero waste qualities may not always meet the wider range of consumer expectations such as fairtrade, organic, plastic-free packaging, health priorities or price sensitivities. This website can only serve as a general guide based on the knowledge and opinions of each contributor on packaging and not necessarily other indicators of Corporate-Social responsibilities.
